I am Peter Fabo, a photographer. Allegedly, the name “Fabo” comes from Sicily but I am a Slovak from the countryside. I am looking for my roots in the street corner vistas, in microscopic still lifes of Makro or in the luminous border of the forest. I was born to make art and I live doing commercial work. I know that photos can transform reality but I like the world as it is. For this reason, I do not use pictures to lie, I like to mediate beauty that really exists. I am a poetic hairsplitter as well as a pedagogue: my work with the students of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague helps me to remain rebellious, a quality too easy to lose in the instant reality of urban life. I am not proud but I know that a camera is just a machine: it won´t perform if you don´t believe in yourself. Dialogue is not an excuse to make compromises. I communicate well, photographers should be both creative and humble. I meet arranged prices and deadlines. I have three children and – having twins – I learnt that amazing content cannot be copied.
